 Assistant Professor of Private Law at the University of Cyprus\, specializ
 ing in the legal regulation of Artificial Intelligence. His research spans
  AI law\, consumer protection\, governance\, and technical standards. He h
 as published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and contr
 ibutes actively to academic and policy discussions on AI governance across

 become increasingly integrated into society\, important questions arise re

 This session examines the intersection of data protection and AI regulatio
 n under the EU AI Act\, covering topics such as data governance\, explaina
 bility\, bias\, human oversight\, and responsible AI practices. The sessio
 n concludes with a practical case-study discussion on ethical decision-mak
 ing and accountability in AI systems.\nPresenter Bio:Vicky Konstantinopoul
 ou is a privacy professional and Deputy Data Protection Officer (DPO) with
  extensive experience in privacy and compliance matters. She specializes i
 n the ethical implications of artificial intelligence and holds internatio
 nally recognized privacy certifications (CIPP/E and CIPM)\, as well as an 
 MSc in Law and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). She regular
 ly contributes to training and awareness initiatives on privacy\, data pro
