First announcement

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the 6th Working and Indoor Aerosols Conference (WIAC2025), which will be held in Cassino, Italy, from May 6-8, 2025.
The theme of this edition is “Particle Pathways: Exploring the Nexus of Indoor Air Pollution and Airborne Diseases.” This pioneering three-day international conference is designed to delve into the critical intersection of indoor air pollution and airborne diseases. It is organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN), and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (UNICAS).
This multidisciplinary event aims to bridge the gap between two pivotal areas of public health and environmental science, fostering a unique dialogue on exposure to ambient and viral particles, mitigation measures, and comprehensive risk assessment models.
The venue will be the historic Gaeta Castle, located in the picturesque town of Gaeta, Italy. This remarkable venue not only offers a stunning setting for our event but also provides a rich historical backdrop that adds a unique dimension to our gathering. Operated by the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Gaeta Castle is situated on a promontory overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, offering breathtaking views and a serene environment conducive to scholarly discussions and networking. The castle has witnessed significant historical events, including sieges and battles, and has served various roles from a military stronghold to a royal residence. Today, it stands as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage and architectural ingenuity.
Please visit our website at WIAC2025.eu for preliminary information. A second announcement is scheduled for mid-September 2025.
See you in Gaeta!

The chairmen of the conference

Luca Fontana (WHO, fontanal@who.int) & Giorgio Buonanno (UNICAS)
